Indian American Male vs White Male: Who has the better chance?
I am an Indian American male, so I believe I will be placed in the bucket of "overrepresented minorities". For M7/T15 admissions, would I be in a better spot than White males? Worse? About the same?
Also, as an Indian American, will I definitely be better off than an international Indian male?
I know this is a weird and short-sighted question, but I would just like a little bit of insight regarding diversity and buckets. Of course, please assume all stats are equal.
Do you really expect someone on this forum to give you a good answer? There are probably no admissions committee officers for B-school that frequent WSO. I recommend reaching out to an admissions consultant. There are many that do short, free consultations.
Welcome to 2020 liberal utopia. Where everyone is neatly placed in racial dominance heriarchies and judged accordingly. Nothing wrong with this at all.
I really can't speak to MBA admissions, but if it's anything like ug college admissions, we're bucketed as Asians. This is a competitive demographic, so I would assume that the white male has better chances than the Indian American male, all else being equal.
That being said, all else doesn't have to be equal. Grind harder and have as good of a profile as possible and you should have no problem getting in anywhere, whether you're an Asian or an alpaca. Focus on controllable factors like your GMAT, your essays, admissions interviews, and extracurriculars and the answer to the question you posed won't matter.
If you add homosexual but identify as a female, you'll definitely be chosen
