Investment management career path from insurance industry

Hi. I’m joining the investment arm of a lifeco in the fall post masters in finance and curious about career progression (how long till senior analyst?) vs traditional asset managers and feasible exits (will be placed into either  HY, IG, or EM credit). Also will these roles provide better learning/career progression over starting off in the private debt side as a secondary investor?
