Is an MBA worth it for MBB Consultants?

I find myself feeling more and more like an MBA (even from a top school) would not be worth it. While I have plenty of time to decide before applying, it would be nice to have a better sense of whether I want to set my sights on one before starting work full-time.

For background: I’m starting full-time at an MBB (post-undergrad). I spent last summer at a top EB and decided to switch industries. I’m at a top 10 undergrad school now.

Right now, I feel like (1) I’ll already have brand names on my resume without an MBA (2) an MBA would completely wipe out all my pre-MBA earnings and put me back in significant debt and (3) I’m having a hard time coming up with specific opportunities that would be available to me with an MBA that would not be available to me without an MBA.

For someone that already has strong brand names on their resume and isn’t looking to use B-school as a way to break into IB or MBB, what are some of the compelling reasons to pursue an MBA? For the sake of argument, let’s assume I will not be pursuing sponsorship from my MBB. Thanks in advance for your input.
