I'm an analyst at a long-only firm. I recently passed Level III of the CFA exam, but I'm wondering if there would be any value in taking the CPA exam. I've been an analyst for just over a year and often find myself wishing I had a better understanding of accounting and tax specifics when looking at companies and making models. Does anyone think it would be worthwhile or would I be wasting my time/money?
Obviously I would never be able to get the certification, but I took enough classes in undergrad, so I'm eligible to sit for the exams. I'm worried I would just forget everything I learn anyway (similar to how I've already forgotten most of the CFA program). Thoughts?
