Is Early Insight/Diversity Program Helpful for Recruiting?
I know people are participating in diversity programs and early career/insight series with different companies. I just want to know if that would be any help for recruitment? If so, how do we get a better chance for landing a SA position? Do we want to put that on our resume?
I got into the GS Summer Insight Series last summer, but only a few presentations and resume discussions with an assigned participant were provided. At least for me and some people know, we didn't "selected into" any of fast track to a super day to GS.
Since you mentioned last summer, does that mean you're a sophomore? And if you're a current sophomore, then all the early insight programs have been closed for months now.
I got into some early programs when I was a sophomore last year and I just finished my three years in a liberal arts college. Now I transferred into an Ivy this year, so I'm looking at 2022 SA for my "second junior year."
Gotcha, so effectively, you're a sophomore at an Ivy league now?
Technically yes. The reason I made this thread is to figure out what can we get out of those early insight programs, except preparing "why their firms" type of questions.
Typically, accelerated superdays. Yes, early insight events are hugely advantageous.
Thanks probably just GS insight series do no accelerate super days though.
barring gs and db (there are more i’m sure), most banks’ diversity programs allow you to interview early for their junior internship positions. it depends on each banks however whether the interview you will receive will be a first round (i.e. citi early id) or a superday (i.e. barclays sophomore springboard.) another thing to note is that these programs are getting very competitive so often times you need to network to get into them. additionally, since you’re interviewing earlier, that means you need to be prepared earlier than your peers, covering both behavorials and technicals. on that point, some may say that diversity interviews are easier — that is the case, but not always. from my personal experience, diversity interviews for citi and evercore were as hard as the regular. good luck!
