It can be done!
2 things I would like to say.
First, for all you low GPA non-core students it can be done! I attended a non-core school and have a GPA

congrats on having a GPA
I am not sure why my whole message didn't go through. But everyone with a low GPA it can be done! I just received an offer with less than stellar grades. Also, THANK YOU EVERYONE ON IBANKINGOASIS. I couldn't have done it without you.
what kind of grades did you have? ECs? Internships? Networking? School? Major? BB?MM?Boutique? Give some more information
Theres a lot of missing info about your profile. Please specify the stuff aspiringmonkey mentioned in his post so your thread is somewhat meaningful.
above 3.0 below 3.5, ECs=a lot and leadership roles in most, great internships (not banking though), non-core school, BB firm, and just a great understanding of how a deal works. If you are in a position like this make sure to network (I was for over a year) and really know your finance! Understand everything about WACC, ROE, DCF, valuation models..........
Basically, read through this board and prepare non-stop.
Leadership roles? I'm in a frat and I drink beer, smoke pot and fuck random bitches, does that count?
if you were president or vp the answer is yes
why not say your actual GPA? 3.0 and 3.5 is a huge difference.
it is much closer to 3.0.
well i go to a business school in NJ and have a 3.5 gpa. The only person that i can network through is a professor who worked at ML for 30 yrs as a "something" manager, don't quite remember. so i dont know..
