JP Morgan 2018 SA Networking Dinner (school-specific)
Hey everybody,
Background: non-diversity sophomore at a target, 3.9/4.0, had an internship this past summer but pretty irrelevant to IB/finance
I applied for the 2018 JPM IB SA through the normal application for juniors and did the video interview last week. I just got invited to a "networking dinner" for applicants, and I was wondering if every applicant from my school gets this email or just the ones who haven't been dinged so far? I don't expect to get an offer (or even a superday lol) but should I go to the dinner anyways?
How dense are you? networking is what gets you the job. You literally put in the work and got lucky enough to get the invite that could get you in. Worst case you get a solid network for next summer. Fucking go
Okay good advice, I was planning on going anyways just to talk to some of the people I met last year Do you think every applicant from my school got this invite though? Or just the ones who haven't been dinged yet? Trying to gauge how many people might be there

Bruh it's free food at the absolute worst. I was starving in college eating ramen in my dorm just go.
My 2c, go to the dinner regardless of how many people there are, even if it's just to brush up on those contacts. If you've met people at the firm before, say hi so they remember who you are. This is honestly an amazing opportunity and you'd actually be stupid to not go.
