Hearing rumblings that JPM is reopening their Toronto office. Can anyone confirm?
Wondering what their industry coverage is gonna look like as well as who is gonna be leading the team. Will it be all mining? Diversified?
Also interested to see if anyone knows when they're gonna be hiring juniors and how many.

?? JPM has always had an office in Toronto although it is very small (like 5 people) and focused on mining. No meaningful deal flow
To my knowledge their office has only been CB, no investment banking coverage. All their mining deal flow goes through NY. Been on the other side of a few mining deals with them and never saw anyone from a Canadian office.
Do you know anything about their Treasury or Asset Management departments in T.O. ? American banks seem to offer a lot of that in Canada for some reason (BAML comes to mind).
I've wondered why they don't have a Toronto office, when Barclays/CS/UBS/GS/MS do. Their Calgary team does well.
