Does anyone know anything about the Real Estate, Gaming, and Lodging group at JPM. I have seen some old posts but nothing current on this group. Trying to get a better understanding of culture, hours, exit opps, etc.

JPM REGAL is top 3 in the space in terms of culture, exits, deal flow, and work life, along with WF (3), and BofA (1). BofA is extremely long hours / week (110+), so WF and JPM are the best options if you want to end up in REPE, or work on gaming deals.
What do you think hours are like in the JPM/WF groups - the typical 70-80hr week average with fluctuations as you get put on live deals?
Correct, spot on. However because most live deals are Real Estate focused, it tends to be less weekend work by a significant margin. 70-80 is standard throughout most of the year as an analyst, aside from June/July, where it usually is more.
That is not true at all. WF is not the same since Eastdil went private, and their entire gaming team recently left. Best REGAL groups are BofA, Citi and MS, followed by GS, Barclays and JPM. You’ll get REPE looks from almost everywhere as long as your at like a top 15ish bank.
Oh really. Maybe do some research. Only 2 analysts placed to Carlyle were from WF. More at BX every year. Which firm did the Realty income / Vereit deal (largest ever in RE). And which which firm did the buy side for BX HPA 6 billion? Oh ya… WF.
