JPMorgan London M&A internship offer: please help (hesitation)
Hello guys,
I am back to you. To let you remember my story, here is a summary:
I graduated in June 2009 with a master in finance from a top European UNI, then I began working in audit (PwC) but I left because I was not interesting in it, then I got hired by a boutique bank where I did Asset Management (in Paris) but even if the work was interesting, it was not really intense and exciting so I left for Accenture Strategy ( which is very interesting). But the thing is that when I wanted to go away from the boutique bank I postulated also to JPMorgan. The results is the following: I did all the interview perfectly and I was offered an intership in investment banking at JpMorgan ( first they offered me the position in a small european city, then , as I was reluctant for a smaller city, they came back to me with an London internship 12 weeks).
I have to give them my final answer for monday.
-Now that the intership is in London, do you think it is worth moving from Accenture Strategy (with full time offer) to the JpMorgan internship?
-Do someone has an idea of the FT offers rate that are made to interns? ( I am trying to assess the risks)
-What about the hours? ( We read a lot of BS on that ( like 120-140 hours a week); Actually I asked HR who told me I can be sometime intensive but not every weeks). So what is the reality? Is it possible to have two all-nights consecutively (how to make it physically without dying????), Note that my contract says 9-5pm ahahah).
-What about WEs (is it possible to have it? HR said yes but sometime no. What does 'sometine' means?) Do you think I can still see my family and girlfriend?
-and holidays?
Honestly what would you do???????????? ( I do not want to regret saying no to this offer in ten years but actually I can also not be offered a FT and loose everthing ( plus looking instable in front of other employers for changing 3 jobs in one year and a half)
Thank you for your help and sory to be so hesitant in my decision
One of the few good things that Steve Jobs said is: 'Don't be trapped by dogma'. Perhaps you should just follow what you actually believe is good. Do you want to work with JPMorgan because you think you may enjoy IB or because other people believe it is cool? If you have doubts about lifestyle, job security, etc...then you should not fustigate yourself.
Well noted...
Other suggestions?

Any other comments or answers?
To piyush Gade,
Do you also have an offer from JPM - London?
hahahahahahhaa dude honestly, you asked HR for the hours and expected an honest answer?
the reality is that at JPM in london the hours are probably gonna be something between 90 and 120 a week. every week! you will work every weekend and you can go on vacation when your boss says you can but he could change his mind 2 hrs before your plane leaves and you would have to stay home. you get paid handsomely to be available and do as your told. if you're smart you'll learn loads along the way and thats what really matters at the end of the day.
