Knowledge Brokers (AlphaSights) Exiting Into PE

Hi all

I am a finance undergrad at a top Canadian university that will be graduating soon and I am looking at job opportunities. Because of a lack of initiatives in the past, I don't have a lot of interns and expereince, so breaking into the finance industry is looking pretty grim for me.

I came across the idea of knowledge brokers (AlphaSights) and was told by an AS recruiter that quite a few employees do exit into PEs and HFs (given that AlphaSights serve top PEs and HFs). However I am skeptical.

Therefore, I was wondering if you guys have heard of or know any examples where employees at AlphaSights (or other knowledge broker firms that deal with PEs and etc.) sucessfully exit into a PE/HF.

If you do please leave a comment!

Thanks

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say that this doesn't happen..

I remember randomly perusing one of these firm's recruiting portals and on their job description for an entry-level associate the explicitly stated: "This position is not for those who are interested in gaining a skillset useful to transfer to PE, HF, VCs etc". If the company THEMSELVES are saying that you know to run very far away.

It's a glorified call center job.
