Lakers Versus Nuggets

I am kind of disappointed that the Clippers were eliminated because I wanted to see the Lebron versus Kawhi match up.  It is very early in the series but the Lakers look very difficult to beat.  I think their size is going to be a problem for the Nuggets.   The Lakers have a lot of guys who are 6'8+.   Lebron is 6'9 but plays like he is 7'0 and I do not think the Nuggets have an answer for AD who is big and athletic.  Last night, most of Rondo's assists were alley-oop passes,. which was very exciting to watch.  I would like to see the Lakers plays the Celtics in the finals but the Heat keeping finding ways to win.

Lakers and the Heat in the final. I can't wait to see Butler and Lebron at each other.

Thinking it's probably going to be Lakers in 5 vs Nuggets. It was an interesting game to watch for sure though, wasn't really expecting them to be up by much.

5 sounds about right.  Denver has a few elite players but they are at a big disadvantage in terms of size.  Who is going to get block out AD, Lebron, Howard, Kuzma, and McGee.  The Joker might have a chance but he is only one guy.   It also seems like the Lakers are a different team when Rondo is healthy.

You really hit the nail on the head with that, their overall size really is impressive and with a healthy Rondo who can distribute well I thought it looked pretty smooth, especially if they don't slip up. If they can get a lead early on, looks like all they really need to do is maintain vs the Nuggets which have to get creative. That being said, Denver's roster is great too so I'm really curious to see how they'll respond in game 2, maybe by game 3 they could come up with something.

I agree with your points completely. I've noticed the Nuggets defense doesn't seem suited for bigs who can play above the rim - and the Lakers have 3 in AD, McGee, and Howard (scarier, too, is that LeBron is arguably a part of this list). Jokic is big enough to do well against post ups, but he can't jump or anchor the paint by himself. As for Rondo, the guy turns into an absolute savant in the playoffs. He makes so many great passes and can get crafty around the rim as well. The Lakers have done a great job maximizing the value of their role players.

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

Hoping for a Lakers vs Heat finals. The Lakers just look so in control, and I feel that everything has to go right for the Nuggets to win a game. Also, holes in the Nuggets' defense are showing now that they're not up against offensively limited bigs

What an ending tonight!

AD is something else. Just a matchup nightmare for anyone in the league, and liable to make a 3 anytime (including at the buzzer). Mid range game is insane too.

Agree with the guys on Inside the Nba tonight though- would be interesting for him to spend more time in the post and draw some Denver players in so that he can free up some of his guys at the perimeter.

Pulling for the Lakers but would love to see more ball movement and less of a reliance on Lebron and AD iso especially when the clock gets under 10. If those guys get cold, you end up with these 1-3 minute stretches of no scoring which can be lethal. One of the things that has made the Warriors and Spurs exciting / successful for years is how much off ball activity / ball movement takes place every possession. As great as Steph is from 3, one of his greatest strengths is how much he moves when the ball isn’t in his hands. Wish I could see that kind of effort from the lakeshow. Rockets were the antithesis of this during the last two years (pre-bubble) - late game, Harden would just wait behind all the other players close to half court when the ball wasn’t in his hands and look bored at times. Like, dude you have one of the best guards of all time facilitating, right now, at least TRY and look dangerous. Makes the entire offense so predictable. Much easier for the defense to affect the play.

I digress. Love seeing some bball love on WSO tho

That was awesome!  I am not sure about the ball movement part.  They may not move the ball a lot but they have many formal and informal plays.  I like when the announcers say something like Lebron raises an eyebrow and the other guy knows it means get it to me over here.

It was fun to watch.  The Lakers were ahead by quite a bit for most of the game but in typical Nugget fashion, they mounted a comeback.  This time, thanks to AD, it was not successful.
