The phone interview will be mainly fit - why Lazard, why convertible securities and if you are a lateral hire then questions like why you are looking to leave, etc. Just know the very basics of convertibles for this round. The next round will get more technical where at least one of the interviewers will focus exclusively on technicals.

not sure if Lazard has a desk to issue convertible securities - this might be a purely consulting area, advising client on how best to issue them.

not impressed with the people i know in this group. i know among lazard, they consider this a 2nd rate group as well. from what i heard, technicals weren't too difficult in the interview process.

Corporate Finance Financial analyst - Convertible Securities Advisory Group: Analysts will become integral members of the Convertible Securities Advisory Group team.

The group’s primary responsibilities are: (i) execution of convertible (debt and preferred) exchange and restructuring transactions (ii) origination and execution of new public convertible debt and preferred issues coupled with equity derivatives advisory (iii) corporate financial structuring advisory across industries.
