Learning to create Excel Models for Real Estate Quickly! Help

Hey

I have a final round interview coming up a month from now. This interview is for a PERE / REIT analyst position. They will be grilling me on creating an excel spreadsheet from scratch. I am almost clueless on this. I have nailed my other interviews, but this is the part I have been dreading.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can go from noob to competant in the next month for excel modeling from scratch for real estate? Resources? Tools? Programs?

Thanks!

Here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, you are the sucker.

BIWS Excel Fundamentals and/or the Real Estate Modeling course looks very attractive.

Is it worth the price tag for someone who wants to do property-level acquisitions? It seems more top level and corporate than building by building acquisitions and development focused.

It is also good to get your Excel foundations down. Youtube is solid, free resource to get those foundational elements. I like the following videos (with accompanying practice excel files) from Chris C.

YOUTUBE CHANNEL: http://www.youtube.com/user/ExcelIsFun?feature=watch

SOURCE EXCEL FILES: http://people.highline.edu/mgirvin/ExcelIsFun.htm

The collection is pretty gigantic with 2000 Excel How to Videos and 50 Playlists of Excel Videos.
