I mean by that logic you can also say being in shape is piss easy. Just eat clean and go to the gym to get a light workout in, nothing much more difficult than what you did in middle school gym class. But you still see people that aren't in shape walking around. That's because they lack discipline.

The point is it takes a level of self-discipline and commitment. I agree the concepts aren't incredibly difficult, but it also isn't some BS college exam you can cram for the week before. You have to be able to put in the time, understand the material, and stay consistent for months on end. That's where most people struggle, trading away long term benefits for short term happiness

For example, "I'll go out with the boys instead of committing to the study schedule I planned out for the weekend."

Ummmmm ackhtually

Bro I went to engineering school, I'm familiar with the physics major arrogance. Physics is a bullshit major anyways, it's just applied math. Cope harder, Sheldon Cooper.

  • Business is just applied Finance
  • Finance is just applied Econ
  • Econ is just applied Psychology
  • Psychology is just applied Biology
  • Biology is just applied Chemistry
  • Chemistry is just applied Physics
  • Physics is just applied Math
Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

Wasn't going to feed the troll, but after 850 hours (and counting) of studying, here I am.

As @FinanceIsWacc stated, the concepts aren't hard (for the most part), but maintaining discipline is. Fitting in 1.5hrs of studying per night after working 11-12 hours (not in IB) and still try to maintain a relatively consistent workout schedule is hard. Throwing that in with trying to maintain a relationship with a girlfriend of 5 years isn't easy. I've had to turn down so many friends' offers for events/drinks in order to study and that gets old too.

I'm not saying all this to get pity, I'm saying it because I want the designation to garner the respect I believe it deserves after all the work I've put in.

What I find particularly perplexing about this topic is why someone who is enrolled in the program, would choose to disparage the exams and the CFA institute.

haha I know this chick that has her charter now but she had the same attitude

Cruuuuuiseed through L1 and L2. L2 is tough they told her. Ain't no thang for her.

L3 crushed her 3 times in a row. Took her 4 times to pass L3.

CFAI Karma is a bitch. He's fucked now - lol

She said they even started making fun of her at the office for a couple years. She was at one of those 'everybody has their charter' places and they were like - 'are you ever gonna finish those CFA exams' ---- for yearrssss .... hahaha
