London HF - Elliott v Farallon

Hi,

I am a final year MBA student in the later stage for both these processes. I previously worked at a PE shop with a distressed angle in NYC (think Apollo/Centerbridge/Oaktree) and am looking to make the move across the pond. Given i have very few contacts in London, I would appreciate any info on the culture/comp/hours for either of these shops.

Feel like this make you pretty easily identifiable

Tbh not a huge deal, they haven’t said a single thing that’s going to negatively affect them lol.

might get LinkedIn spammed by prospects though

If I knew a candidate was going to WSO to ask about our firm then I'd think less of their prospects

Can I ask you what’s the rationale for making the move to London?

What job at Elliott? Have worked with both their Activist guys and PE strategy, if it’s for PE strategy then expect perhaps lower dealflow but a seriously broad mandate, he looked relatively seriously at pretty much every sizeable distressed opportunity we showed him but would drop early on the ones that obviously weren’t right for him. Very smart guy though.
