London: shops with good hours?

Hey there,

Just wondering, are there shops with good hours ? Particularly interested in tech growth equity but open to other interesting stuff.

Not so keen on getting crushed my whole life, are there London-based shops that offer decent salaries with decent hours (say 9-8) ?

Would appreciate any insights into comps, hours, and how you guys think about it

I might be off base a little here. But if you are interested in Infra / Energy PE then many specialist shops have great hours. I know people working at DIF Capital Partners, Dalmore, I squared, Equitix, Amber infrastructure and all work less than the hours you suggested, in fact 9-6 isn't out of the ordinary... outside of crunch periods of deals of course.

But if you're keen on tech then infra might be a little slow pace for you

Anywhere smaller, Bowmark, FPE, Mayfair, Livingbridge (a bit harder). Maybe 60-70 hours and £70k - £80k + c.40% bonus for first year assoc level.

I think this is generally right. The key here is to look for the buy side places that hire from big 4 (UK focussed lmm particularly). They pay less than others (don't need to pay a lot to poach associates from big 4) but tend to work more towards the big 4 hours and culture

Yeah can confirm lots of Big4, definitely important dynamic that shapes how that end of the industry works. Not only Big4 also like lower-end Investment Banks like GCA Altium no-one has probably ever heard of.
