Majors and GPA for Undergrad Recruiting
It is well known that GPA is very important in consulting recruiting; and for MBB you need a pretty top 3.8+ GPA. My question is, how do MBB firms (and the wider spectrum of consulting companies) view double majors, and double major GPAs. I am currently at a 3.8, however I can add another major and I expect to only go down to a 3.7. Is the addition of another major worth the drop in GPA? Furthermore, do consulting firms take 'Major GPAs' into account, or do they just care about cumulative GPA?
Don't do it. Get as high of a gpa as possible.
If you want to stand out do some nice extra-curricular activities with the extra time you have on your hands.
im a varsity athlete too, so your right, will probs pile too much and could hurt my gpa
Cumulative only and fairly major agnostic (provided its not completely out of left field) at target schools, but obviously delivering rock star performance on case interviews maybe easier for a econ or business major than history
Depends what both majors are (McKinsey for example loves engineers at my school) and whether you go to a top target vs a non target. No employer in any field cares about major GPA
ok gotcha, I am Econ but thinking of adding Poli Sci and I go to a target
Adding poli sci wouldn't help at all
Is 3.7 a sufficient GPA from a target for an econ major?
It will get you interviews but won't be impressive. You still have to crush the cases.
