Market share for PE due diligence consulting firms
Curious if anyone knows the breakdown of PE due diligence revenue from the top consulting firms in the PE DD space: (Bain, Parthenon, L.E.K., etc).
Understood that at the junior level its not super relevant but I'm interested in knowing the relative magnitudes of different PE DD groups.
Just taking a bit of wild guess for U.S. PE due diligence market share
Bain 25% LEK 20% Parthenon 15% BCG 10% MCK 5% KPMG 5% Others 20%
Lek and ey-p are way too close to Bain for this to be accurate. And no way BCG does more DDs than Mck
Might need to hire one of these firms to study their own industry / PE DD market to estimatesize and market share of key competitors.
"Oh our own Parthenon team has the largest market share? Who woulda guessed! "
Bain // LEK, McK // Parthenon // BCG, Oliver Wyman // Other (e.g. OC&C, Roland Berger
Bain is 3-4x LEK/McK, McK is 2x BCG, fill in the blanks. That translates into something like: Bain 30-40% Mck 10-15% LEK 10-15% Parthenon 7.5-12.5% BCG 5-10% Oliver Wyman 5-10% Other 15-20%
Lol you made up ~100% of this. Admit it
It's directionally right. But it's a weird question. The PE DD "space" doesn't exist. You need to cut it up in their respective segments; i.e. sell-side vs. buy-side, Ops vs. CDD vs. FDD etc. There no point in the question.
