MBB in Los Angeles

Anyone have any insight on the LA offices of the MBB? Looking for Mckinsey and Bain specifically. Anything on size, types of deals, industries, exit opps at the junior level, etc. would be helpful.

Hey there,

I have a couple friends working for MBB in LA offices and that's what they came up with (N = 6). Hope this helps!

McKinsey

  • Size: ~80 consultants (significantly smaller than SF)
  • Strong in HC/ Pharma, CGR, Energy & Natural Resources
  • Other industries: TMT, Private Equity, Industrial Goods/ Manufacturing
  • Exit ops (order of prevalence): Industry, Start-ups, VC, PE, Non-profit

Bain

  • Size: ~125 consultants (more than McK LA due to fewer West Coast offices)
  • Strong in Private Equity, HC/ Pharma, TMT, CGR
  • Other industries: Energy & Natural Resources, Industrial Goods/ Manufacturing
  • Exit ops (in order of prevalence): PE & Industry, Start-ups, VC, Non-profit

Edit: if anyone has better information (e.g. working there), please correct me.
