Middle Market Compensation
Hi all,
I've been searching around for information on this topic, but couldn't find much so I thought I'd start a discussion. I'm an incoming analyst at a pretty well known middle market firm in the NYC office, and was wondering if anyone had any information on what kind of a bonus I should expect. I know that my base salary is on par with bulge brackets.

I was at a top MM last year, and our second years got ~$90k. Some got more, but those were few and far in between (read: those were the kids who did nothing but work the entire year).
The bigger names in the MM space will look to pay on par with BB's, less than EB's.
For first years, that equated to a bonus stub that would be ~$40-50k annualized last year. Actual cash pay depends on when it's paid. Some pay after full year in June, some after calendar year end in January, some based on fiscal years.
Thanks for the info. Just to be clear I am working at what I would consider a top MM (think Stifel, Piper, Lincoln, Harris Williams, William Blair). Is this list consistent with the info you've given?
Can't say for sure on all of them but would imagine it generally holds true.
