Millennials, porn addiction and erectile dysfunction

Porn Addiction

What do you think about the growing online movements like noFap and the fact that by the time a kid is 12 he's seen more naked women than men would see in a lifetime in the past century? Lot's of young men in college are reporting porn induced erectile dysfunciton (Viagra won't help as this is a psychological issue, not a physical ailment), however several of these men claimed to be chronic porn users from the time they were 12 (and thought it was completely normal). Some of these guys have given up porn for 6 - 12 months and experienced profound changes like: increased erections, able to maintain erection pre and duringreal sex, the return of wet dreams and improved cognition. One guy in the video reported that after years of therapy, giving up porn was the cure.

What do you guys think - is this all pseudo-science, or are the thousands of men online reporting on these issues on to something?

Porn is a very unhealthy ailment in society. Think the decline of men and masculinity. There's even homosexual tendencies induced by watching too much porn. I.e., as a male watches more and more porn, his bar for an arousal becomes increasingly heightened where something a straight male might consider so taboo it becomes exciting.

The Bible was not wrong about the negative and declining effects the woman can have on the man.

Porn has existed for thousands of years. If it led to the decline of men and masculinity, we're way too far gone.

In what world is this anything more than a joke? I don't know about you, but I'll take a real sexual encounter over xvideos.com 10 out of 10 times and it's hardly like you're incapable of mixing it up in real life if missionary gets too staid for you.

It's not a joke and you are completely wrong. Only for the last 30 years or so have we had the ability to instantaneously access any and all types of sexual display via the internet, which is especially harmful to children and young adults because there is no barrier for them to access this content. Humans are influenced by experience, and watching porn gives young men unrealistic expectations about real sexual encounters and blunts them to arousal from normalized relations.

I think you're oversimplifying the reality. "Porn has existed for thousands of years", like since the 1800s kind of thousands?

Whatever you want to call erotica (writing on stone tablets in hieroglyphic characters), fine. But, there has never been an infinite hole of mild to very extreme explicit content in heightened form that is motion picture. And this stuff is HD and designed to expose the genitalia in the closest and most intimate ways.

So, reduce it however you want. Doesn't change what its real effects and social implications are.

Not like this. Online high speed, high def porn is rewiring the brains of chronic users. The problem today, is that 99% of teens are chronic, heavy users. They think it's normal. The fact that so many kids today feel alienated, alone and depressed (kids today do not socialize like they did pre-social media) makes me think porn is somehow linked to this.

LOL if this is bad, just wait until VR get advanced enough. My prediction is that it'll get so good that many men will stop caring to approach women (because fuck approach anxiety amiright?). HOPEFULLY, this shifts the dynamic so that women approaching men becomes normalized because gender equality right?

You can say that about every other aspect of virtual reality. My bold prediction is that the world is going to turn into the world in Ready Player One. Wealth disparity is going to lead poor folks to turn to the virtual world to ease their shitty lives. VR is what going to keep the world from going into riots and lower class revolutions. VR is the "cake" that these billionaires going to let the people eat. Bottom line - watch more VR porn and may be buy Meta stocks!

My Mom's friend is a sex therapy doctor. Indeed this is all very much co-related. Significant shifts in dopamine affect one's ability to perform sexually. Personally I strongly disagree with many points of the No-Fap movement. I am anti porn and even social media. No-Fap to me is illogical because Semen like any other bodily fluid is going to be released and indeed masturbation is a big part of male sexuality. Masturbating has several health benefits related to blood pressure and mood. Overall I think the movement is a little silly(guys in no fap claim to have "super powers").

Yup, this is JohnGutfreund 's excuse for stage fright his first time.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Im starting to sound like an old fart but I do remember a time when you couldn’t just dial that shit up in an instant, you had to first have internet (didn’t get until I could drive a car), wait for your parents to go to bed, and then use the home computer at your own risk.

I used to think it was benign as well. Then instead of a once in a while thing like high school, it became a habit once I got a smartphone after college. Sure you’re not doing anything illegal, but I remember several times thinking “I should have blasted off right now” or “why am I getting soft” and if you’ve followed me, it wasn’t the weed.

Gave the private browser a break and things have never been better. All of the things you mention happened again and I feel so much better. No fap is utter bullshit, cleaning the pipes is medically necessary, porn is not. Get you a regular slampiece and the other 2 times a week you need a nut, I’m sure there’s a girl doing squats at your gym whose image can get deposited into the spank bank.

TLDR: no porn, yes pussy, yes fap, moderation is key (except in pussy you don’t pay for, more is always better)

Guess I'm a horn dog because porn doesn't mess with my libido. Watch tons of porn. Have tons of sex with my wife.

Sounds like you boys maybe need to deadlift!

Did anyone else hear about MIA KHALIFIA , basically the Bulge Bracket CEO for all aspiring "incoming bang bros / blacked summer intern" was only paid a total of 12K ( yes a summer intern cheque) for her videos.

I am severely disappointed in this and would like all of us to stand up against corporate greed in the porn industry in order for the best generational talent we have ever seen since Michael Jeffery Jordan to finally secure the money she deserves and continue to pave the way for porn stars to rise up through the jungle ( literally ).

I'm just posting here to say that for a moment I thought this was an elaborate bot ad to sell viagra pills without getting caught by the ad-blocker.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

I've tried NoFap many times. I'm currently on 4 weeks no PMO. Confidence increases and voice deepens. I think it will become more popular once it is backed with science.

Edit: Just editing to say how annoying is it when people chime in with an opinion without doing any research/experimenting. Just try not busting a nut for 2 weeks and you'll see the benefits, then come back and give an opinion.

I'm curious, you mentioned an increase in confidence and a deeper voice. I guess it's still too early based on your timeline but do you think your game will improve when talking to chicks because you have more self discipline and feel more empowered or does that not matter when it comes to bringing a girl back to your place?

after a good session with my GF to the point where i'm totally drained and essentially i blackout afterward into a coma, i'm usually good for at least 24 hrs...sometimes 48hrs. nothing else required...just got to be able to indulge all your private fantasies with your significant other..let it all out....and then there is no need for anything else in that arena.

this is where finding a compatible partner is important...if you can't indulge all your crazy fantasies with your partner / SO...then its not a good long term match, and you'll seek out that release elsewhere.

just google it...you're welcome

I 100% agree. There are lots of guys that go on 1 day benders on porn and over do it, they can't get fulfilled, no laying in bed with the gf covered in sweat having her fall asleep in your arms, only to wake up and do it again in 30 min, 1hr, etc. Porn doesn't have that fulfillment, and lots of guys are trying to use it as a crutch but it just ends up being a giant treadmill to anxiety and depression.

Too much of anything is a bad thing. If porn is such an issue that it becomes a crutch to compensate for other things, then yes it is destructive. But that doesn't mean it will be destructive for everyone who views porn. You can draw the same conclusions from the overconsumption of other vices like alcohol, weed, or refined sugar.

If cutting out porn makes your life better, then I say go all for it. But I'm sure you can also find many men (and women) who regularly view porn in moderation and still have functional sex lives. For some, porn as an outlet for stress may actually provide benefits.

First off not clicking this link at work. Second if you have any issues getting it up because of porn that is just sex addiction. Don't really need to waste time bickering about a side effect of addiction.

Thanks Greenspud, finally some logic instead of some random shit from the bible. "Too much of anything is a bad thing." - This pretty much sums it up. Too much water can kill you and make you feel sick but the right amount is very healthy. Too much Tylenol will fuck your liver and it kills people every year. Same with other vices and there are always new side-effects.

Lol this thread is like any marketwatch comment section: You check the thread because there's a small chance real discourse is happening, but instead there's a bible-beater that says slavery isn't immoral.

JUST DO IT. Don't let your memes be dreams.
