Mix of Finance and Computer Science?

Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about what minor I might want to pursue in college and I was thinking computer science. Besides trading, what else might a major in finance and minor in comp sci be useful for? The reason why I chose comp sci is because the industry is changing a lot and every year technology is becoming more and more of a shaker. I've been hearing a lot about fintech and people loosing their jobs because technology can do it now. My theory is if I have good basis/understanding/ability to code with a strong understanding in finance that I will hopefully always be able to find a job. ex: I do 2-4 years of inv. banking/corp. banking/ER, and a bank wants to incorporate technology into my division to cut costs or a fintech startup is looking for someone with banking experience to come work for them in that sector, I can hopefully be able to lateral over into another position. This is just my opinion, I don't know anything about comp sci, Ive never taken any coding class but thought it might be a good idea to minor in it in college. What do you guys think of the finance major, comp sci minor? or would it be better to minor in like Econ? Thanks.
