Morgan Stanley Institutional Equity Summer internship
Hi everyone,
I just had my super day interview within Morgan Stanley Institutional Equity division on Thursday, January 29th and I was wondering if anybody heard back from them ? How long does it usually take to get an answer ( offer, rejection ... ) ?
Thanks
Friday they let you know if they want you. You are probably on waitlist.
Do you remember any of the questions you were asked or anything else you can share?
I had my superday on the 29th as well and have yet to hear back.
has anybody heard back yet from their MS IED superday? Also, have not heard back yet
Yes they called me one week after the superday to say that I was on the waiting list
Also, have not heard back yet.
Had my super day yesterday with IED. Any timeframe on when they pick and how they pick
MS Institutional Equity Division Industrial Placement Internship (Originally Posted: 10/28/2016)
Have received assessment center interview invitation from Morgan Stanley Institutional Equity Division, which is an industrial placement program, meaning to take one semester off and work full time at MS. However, the potential placement sounds very likely in the Prime Brokerage part, and probably a client coverage role (because all my interviewers are somewhat related to client coverage and they have probed my interest in the position many times).
I wonder whether it would be a value-added experience if I am heading for a BB position either S&T or IBD afterward. Also, will it affect my full time job opportunity a lot if I am going to defer six months for graduation?
Any response will be appreciated!
bump
Bump. Really need advice. I think the question is about whether entering a middle office/back office role at a junior year will benefit my job hunting in front office or not.
What worries me is that it will give me a stereotype as a middle/back office guy. Wonder if I can leverage that to break into front office.

So I just got a phone interview for MS Institutional Equity this summer. Could anyone tell me more about this program and what to expect from the interview / how to prepare? Also is this a good opportunity for a Junior?
Semi-target school
Typical SA program within equities. Rotation between multiple desks on the floor to gain exposure with some individual projects sprinkled in here and there from whichever group/desk you are working with at the time. Rotation on Institutional is more of a fit SA gig than showing off a quantitative skillset.
Interview again should be fairly fit with a big emphasis put on passion for markets and any views you may have on the current market environment, a given name, and the rationale for Institutional over another dept. Word of advice is try not to back yourself in a corner by dropping a lot of valuation jargin unless you are uber confident in being challenged on it and having to expand your point.
Yes this is a good opportunity...a BB SA stint is always worth it...especially when you aren't from a true target.
