New entrant
Hello WSO members,
I am currently trying to assess my viability of making it in the investment world; (IB/PE/ Restructuring firms - which is what I'm interested in) transitioning from a traditional finance role / accounting role; below is my specific work experience for the past three years:
- P&G (sub saharan Africa) - worked as a financial analyst, before transitioning to a broader role of assoc. manager.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (African institution)
- CFA level III candidate; FRM complete.
In Sep, I'm set to start my MBA program again not in a top tier school but it's still in the top 100 rankings according to the FT; (Strathclyde MBA); (Reason I took it, is I got a scholarship)
I am interested to see how recruiters would assess my profile and at the same time some key pointers on how to break in the PE industry especially being someone who is from Africa + has no key PE experience.
Appreciate the feedback.
