Not so fast. A quick LinkedIn search yields a shocking number of laterals to EB/BB platforms. Most MF will hire directly out of the Northwestern Mutual program in Milwaukee. Would seriously consider if you have an offer there.

Run far far away. Their public/private investments groups are far better than their scam financial representive internships, but the culture is absolutely awful from when I interned there. Are you trying to go into banking and is this a FT or SA offer?

Met someone who interned at NWM & Tobin and somehow managed to land a very good BB group after that. He is now in MF PE. Obviously a huge exception.
Why is this the huge exception. Don't get me wrong the NWM internship is a huge scam, but compared to some of what kids are doing, it can be a decent option to get something on your resume.

Disagree with this. NWM is actually the biggest joke in corporate America with Transamerica and other like bottom feeding companies where you get paid dirt. Instead of trashing your resume with the worst name in “finance” (pain to even give them that credit), go work somewhere where you might gain some kind of actual meaningful experience even if it’s not directly finance. You will have more to talk about instead of spewing about how you sucked your grandmas last remaining free cash into a horribly managed retirement fund
