NYC - Best Dinner Date Spots on an Analyst Budget
Hey guys - Been in NYC for about 6 months now and have seen this girl I met at a bar 4 times now. She wants to grab dinner this weekend after mostly doing drinks/cheesy date things, but has indicated she is looking for something a little more serious with me. I think she's cool and very attractive so wouldn't mind getting cuffed for the winter with her after getting a few test rides. Not being from anywhere around here and still not knowing too many people in the city I wanted to see if anyone has any cool/interesting dinner spots that might impress her while still being within reason budget-wise. I know we both like trying unique or cultural food so anything that checks that box would likely be a plus as well. I'm not so concerned about the price to show off in that sense, really more finding a place that makes it look like I have good taste/is unique. I feel like google makes it too hard to narrow down options so I figured I'd ask some fellow monkeys.
Maybe a nice steakhouse? But can be pricey. A few recommendations below. Comes down to your own preference
Carne Mare
Porter house (great view of Columbia circle)
Mastros (has live music)
Keens
Lol
Remember to wrap it up if you hit a homerun my guy
Where did you get the idea OP hasn't hit it yet? But if that's true, then in-and-out so she gets it
taco bell
A few recommendations that are reasonably priced, not cheap, but reasonable:
Italian: babbo, Charlie bird, or ai fiori
French: Benno or dirty french
Indian: tamarind in tribeca
higher end: atera, atomix, blue hill (nyc not stone barns)
Thanks for the recs so far...bumping again.
Anyone have any for more exotic cuisines?
Marea
Buenos Aires - East Village

I recommend Caracas also, but they aren’t in the East Village anymore but are really good and not too expensive.

I don't have a specific rec for you but Eater NYC is my go-to website to find unique places. They have tons of lists like this - their essentials list is a good start, and every month they showcase new openings, there's an older date night one too. Make sure you use the map because they do love to highlight places way out in Queens/Brooklyn
St. Theos in the West Village. Relatively new spot, but becoming trendy as it’s a great vibe. It’s Italian-American, but not a menu filled with the traditional classics. Has some good flare to it. West village makes it easy for post dinner drinks.
Le Pavillon in One Vanderbilt. Brand new French restaurant owned by Michelin Star chef Daniel Boulud. Another great vibe in the mezzanine level of One Vanderbilt that overlooks Grand Central. Pretty pricey, but a little more exotic and is just coming on the scene.
Bump

Pastis has good vibes and is in meatpacking
