Options Trading (Short term)

Been looking at trading options given insane volatility, not planning on betting the farm but maybe a few grand/small bets. This is 100% me getting greedy, bought some stocks I've been looking at for awhile but waiting for buying opportunity (this week/last week) and have done decent on just buying stocks -> but always looking at more.

Understand basics, and continuing to learn, zero exp. trading options, anyone with experience? Are options traders all either crazy rich or broke or all broke in the long term; is this even better than Vegas? Not trying to be cynical, honestly asking, wouldn't bet the farm on anything but seems like a great opportunity to try.

What exactly is your question? What kind of exposure are you trying to get? Either directional or volatility play. Directional is pretty obvious. Volatility exposure depends on your market access... either through options, variance swaps or implied volatility index derivatives. And you can trade either IV by itself, IV vs Historicals, or IV vs IV across the skew/smile curve or term structure. Most of my product knowledge is in Delta one linear payoffs... but ever since Ron Ozer made a killing from his natgas vol play... I've been on this like crazy .
