Out of Work two months, One year out of 'Target'

Reposting my resume edited for privacy.

I've been out of undergrad one year now and have worked on two contracts with a development finance institution.

I'm trying to move into an Analyst role dealing with emerging markets, preferably focused on Asia. I know it isn't the most common career on this site, but any help to improve would be much appreciated. Ideally, I would like to stay in development finance/ social impact investing, but any sort of work in emerging markets investment or international focused business would be great at this point.

Thanks!

Maybe consider adding some personal interests/ hobbies. Any independent self-study courses you've taken that are relevant may also be good to include (something to demonstrate a working knowledge of the technical skills required of an analyst).

To start:

-I don't like the format. First of all, it will look content light, I think, no matter how much experience you have. Second, the alignment is weird. The name draws my eye to the left side of the resume but everything important is on the right. Third, it really emphasizes the dates more than anything else. Try WSO, M&I for ideas of two good (although not 100% perfect) resume templates. There are many good formats outside of those two as well. You've done a ton of cool stuff and I think it could be showcased more effectively with a different format,

-Why is McDonough in all caps? Not consistent with other experience points

-Agree, add GPA

-The volunteer stuff at the bottom seems to align with no other part of the resume (another ding against the template)

-Seems really random to bold the senior paper

-The non-profit you founded could do more than just sit under your educations section

Thanks for the feedback. I had another resume with the M&I template and it just became too cluttered. My rationale for using this format was the difference in my background with the volunteer work and inventing to highlight.

The caps/bolding are just changed for this format, it's different on my actual resume. As for interests, I took them off as they kind of fit awkwardly at the bottom and I was always skeptical because you never know who is viewing your resume and what stigmas are attached. On that same note though, I guess it could be a plus if they connect with that hobby. My main question sort of comes down to content rather than format; whether there are things I have done that I can add to make it more 'financial analyst' oriented. Any suggestions on where I could put a 'skills' or coursework section to highlight some of this?
