Thoughts on major Consumer PE firms

Does anyone have any thoughts on the top MF/UMM consumer PE funds? Including sector-focused shops like Sycamore and L Catterton, MF's with consumer groups like KKR, Carlyle, and TPG, and generalist firms with a strong presence in the industry like Ares and LGP. I'm an incoming analyst thinking about consumer PE at these firms and others. Would love to hear any thoughts on culture, associate experience, info on investment style, and interview processes.

Any particular sector in consumer you are interested in? A lot of the UMM/MF have had some terrible consumer deals in retail. I’d also look at TSG (I believe they are the largest consumer focused fund now), Roark (dominate restaurants and have a lot to success with other multi unit), Advent & General Atlantic.
