Never mind.

I am deleting my intro thread because I got a response that was not really what I was looking for. I don't think I joined the right forum. It was actually scary to read that many folks on this thread are hardcore racists (KKK types). No wonder you get negative responses. I really wish I could simply delete my account and vanish which WSO does not allow.

I wish I could help, but I feel like you really dug yourself into a deep hole here.

The best advice I can give is to get into like the #1 quantitative finance grad program(s) in the country. Maybe a PhD in something hedge funds really like (but this would have to be from a top 3ish program and I am not even sure you can even get in).

You are too old for an MBA, and an EMBA will NOT get you into the kinds of roles you are looking for so that avenue won't work.

You also might have to start in entry level roles and compete with 22 year olds. From that avenue you may have an advantage, but do you really want HF that bad that you'd be willing to do that? -- Even still, not sure if it's actually an advantage.

You could also go the back office route and hope you are the 1/1000 employee that can go from BO to FO at a hedge fund. Not trolling. Your odds right now aren't that different and this could be a way to break-in if you climb the ranks quickly by going BO -> MO ->Lateral elsewhere to FO but odds are very slim no matter what.

Really buddy? People take time out of their day to help you (a stranger on the internet), you don't like their responses, and now you call the forum racist? Fuck off.
