Portfolio Manager Interview
Hey guys,
I have been called for an interview to an Asset Management group for the position of Portfolio Manager - Associate level. They told me that it does not involve a lot of client facing at the Associate level however, it may become a client facing position once you climb the ladder. The group that I have been called for works directly with the Relationship Managers who are all Directors, so I am assuming that it all works out I can move into relationship management 5 to 10 years down the line. Note that the Associate level role will be required to manage existing loans and underwrite new loans as well. The job also requires facing clients, attorneys, auditors. Other duties include risk rating loans, spreading financial statements etc. Any advice/suggestion is much appreciated guys.
Would suggest going with an open mind. Sounds interesting in terms of the opportunity/ interfacing with a number of service providers right away. With more time/experience under your belt, would prepare you well for a client facing position.
