Potential exits at 1+0 from MBB?
About to start MBB soon - did not enjoy my summer but missed the boat to recruit for other industries.

My doctor's daughter worked at a MBB for a year and then exited to work for one of her clients in a tech / software eng role
Would try to get to like a year and a few months. It seems pretty silly, but if you can get to the new year (so 2022) people end up kind of assuming (at least off the cuff) that its been two years.
Either way though, your exits will be the same as someone with 2 years by in large. Don't expect a PE associate role or any of the larger tech corporate strategy programs (e.g., Google). Every other role (like 95% of what people do) will be available. Those who hire consultants regularly will ask about it, so be ready to answer why you are ready to move on. But I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I will say though, I was like you where I hated my summer and was going in with that type of attitude and then really enjoyed my two years. You might have just been on a really bad project or had a bad manager. Also it can take time to grow into the role. By my two years were up I was ready to leave, but it was way better than my intern experience.
You should be able to exit but it may be at or very close to entry level. If you stay an extra year or two, and network + play your cards right, you can exit to a level that would take much longer to get to had you started at that company. YMMV based on industry and whatnot
I wouldn't go in dreading the job though - honestly, it can take a while (~6-8 months isn't uncommon) to settle in to consulting, and your experience will vary wildly based on what kinds of projects and people you surround yourself with, so you very well may end up having a positive experience
What'd you dislike/why are you dreading it?
