Profile Evaluation & School Suggestions (LSE MSc. Finance)
Hello,
I plan on applying to M.fin programs in the fall of 2016 and would like some advice regarding school selection. I hope to break into IBD after completion of my maters
Profile:
- Age: 23
- Nationality: Canadian Citizen
- UG: Johns Hopkins University, BA in International Studies (3.7/4.0)
- GMAT: 730 (V41,Q49)
- Summer Internships: Macquarie Capital -- IBD (3 months) / L.E.K Consulting (2 months) / Deloitte -- FAS (2 months)
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English & Korean, Intermediate Mandarin.
- I will be taking the CFA Lv 1 exam in Dec 2016
What do you think my chances are for LSE Msc Finance or HEC Paris? Do you have any other suggestions? I am interested in both European and US schools.

Where do you want to work after graduation? With those internships and stats I don't think you need a masters degree to break into IB.
In the US you can look at MIT, UVA's MComm, Vanderbilt, WUSTL
It has been very difficult to break into IBD as an international student. Also, my UG school is a non-target and has limited career resources. I am looking for opportunities in London or Singapore/HK (maybe even Toronto?).
Most ideal scenario would be to do a LSE MSc Finance and go into IBD in London. Does this seem like a viable plan?
