One of the better EB's in London, with very strong continental European offices and a short term goal of greater international expansion. Culture is pretty good across all of their offices, and there's a really strong focus on mentorship and feedback. As someone who's done two internships (one at a BB, one at PWP so I do have a bias), people are genuinally just very nice and helpful compared to other firms.
Why them over PJT/EVR/CVP? Here I think you need to understand the relative strength of each of these firms in the UK or other European offices. Just because it has an amazing New York practice, that doesn't mean the London office is nearly as strong. I'm thinking specifically of Centerview/Evercore when writing this based off of what my friends have told me that currently work there or summered there.
Their restructuring group is young, but strong. PWP had an incident a few years ago where a few top MD's left to start their own practice, and they recently started rebuilding it in London last year. Their NY restructuring team regularly exits to MF special situations groups, and I would argue the quality of people is as high in the London office but they just have fewer deals under their belt because of its recent rebirth. Restructuring team is definitely going very strong through this pandemic and looking to grow. As for other industry groups, the one that comes to mind is Industrials. It's a really strong team in the London/continental European offices.
Amazing, really appreciate this!
Nobody would take PWP over PJT/EVR/CTV though... even in London
don't think anyone would take it over PJT/CTV, but personally know another intern that picked it over Evercore

Interesting. Bad team at EVR or didn’t like the culture ?
Culture tmu. He viewed the two as a toss-up (PWP stronger deal-flow in Europe so long as he got into particular teams like industrials, but Evercore with the stronger brand), but then PWP culture won out I guess. And honestly, I can really relate to that after this internship. When I interned at a BB it was in a team with a tougher culture, and the experience between the two firms could not have been more night and day.
