Refinery Outages
Anyone know of a good source which tracks refinery outages? I know IRR and PIRA do but their subscription is about 100k a year. Bloomberg does a decent job at tracking Refinery outages(REFO GO) but is there anything better out there? Any good blogs that write about refineries?
Thanks
Reuters does a decent job. But if you're looking to trade on the information immediately then I'd say you must pay. If you just want to track and think about long term supply/demand and how that would affect crack spreads then whatever is fine.
Bloomberg's capacity numbers seem to vary on the outages. There updates look to vary too much. I want to be able to get a high level assessment of what is down in what region, may affect diesel, gasoline etc....
Bloomberg or Reuters is good enough. It's maintenance season. Traders expects some of the refinery to shut down for a month... So I wouldn't trade on the news. That being said, the inventories of products are still high, due to high crack spreads, check out the DoE reports on Wednesday.
