Resume check - targeting MBB Toronto

Currently at a semi-target in ontario trying to enter MBB Toronto office. MBB has postings on our job forum and some come to our case competitions. Also, monitor, Deloitte, AT Kearney and booz have postings as well.

  1. The university exchange part looks a little funny. Anyone have examples of how they have written theirs?
  2. City/country is ok?
  3. Should I change dates to 08/11 - 12/11 format?
  4. I am having difficulty writing the first point for the last job entry. In a nutshell I realized days before the tax return deadlines that some client returns could be completed simply by calling the canadian revenue agency on their behalf and retrieving a few numbers. No idea how much penalty fees were saved in total but it probably ranged from a few $100 to a few $1000. Company now does this calling every tax season.
  5. Should I get rid of one of the work experiences and expand my time as an analyst at the nairobi hospitall? If yes, which experience?

There are no semi-targets for Consulting in Canada, let alone Ontario. MBB recruits from mostly 3 schools for Toronto, 4 perhaps given that UBC does quite well in Consulting recruiting. You're also clearly neither in a business school nor a hard (read: quantitative) major so that sets you back too. Your marks are rather low for a humanities major as well. Just remember that just because jobs are posted on the career site doesn't mean they are considering all faculties/majors (your resume implies that you are only a business minor).

That said, I'm not trying to be negative, you should try your best but be aware of the parameters that govern the industry.

Here are some pointers:

Lose the Summer camp/Financial Aid office jobs. Expand the hospital (business) analyst position and quantify your individual value contribution [try and get some hard percentages in there] The exchange mention isn't altogether necessary anyways Improve your marks in your last year, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Your relevant coursework isn't relevant, lose it.

Ivey/Queens Commerce/McGill, with Sauder (UBC) and Rotman on the outside of that. I'm referring to Consulting, IB can be simplified to Ivey/QC/McGill
