Resume Guidance for Transition from Corporate Finance to IB [Recent Graduate]

Hello,

I recently graduated from a non-target in the south and am currently working as a financial analyst for a defense contractor. I have fairly substantial Equity Research experience (I have written several research reports across a few industries and if you would like to take a look at them I am happy to PM you). Additionally, I am under the impression that I have missed the boat as an IB Analyst mainly because I still do not have IB specific experience (correct me if this assumption is wrong and whether I can leverage my current experience into something - I did have a part time internship with a bankruptcy attorney). Thus, I think that the most prudent choice for me is to find an ER position at a bulge bracket and use this to get into a top MBA program and then enter IB as an associate.

I have a few questions so I will list them out:

  1. What is the quickest path to a BB IB analyst position for someone in my circumstances?

  2. Should I delete the current experience I have at my full time job when I am applying to roles because I only just started and it may look bad? Is this different for positions at BB's vs small no-name boutiques?

Any other guidance on my resume is welcomed.
