Revantage - Valuations analyst - Chicago - Anyone interact with the firm?

Relocating to Chicago early December, due to the large number of opportunities in REPE entry to associate level.

Previous exp was research analyst for brokerage firm on the east coast and transitioned into an Associate broker, focused in Industrial Assets.

Revantage seems to be Blackstones own "consulting" firm for all their RE -Asset classes and firms aka (Link)- (Livcor) ect. Task summary- "Support the monthly BREIT and quarterly BREP and BPP internal valuation support cycles together with Blackstone and the portfolio companies".

Ultimately I would like to work on the investment side of RE over to the Portfolio Management side. If anyone has valuations experience and insight would be helpful.

Definitely a valuation role (revantage is just BX's in-house valuation), and you would probably get some good Argus/asset level modeling skills. Probably long hours as it sounds like you will have to update the individual models for BREIT, BPP, and BPREP (a lotttttt of assets).

From what I've seen, most valuations peeps that try to make it to the buyside end up at a small shop or in AM/PM.... Nothing is impossible, if you pitch your skillset well enough and network you could end up at a good shop. Banker's don't really have asset that level RE experience.......

Thanks for the reply, buyside is definitely the end goal.

On that note would it be more advantageous to pursue the Investment Analyst Position that is open at (Link)BX - Industrial Fund?

"responsible for supporting the Senior Investments Team members with a myriad of analytical duties related to underwriting potential investment opportunities. This includes market tracking, comparative lease and sale analysis, using Argus to model cash flows, modeling deals within our Excel model, preparing materials for internal Investment Committee at Link and Blackstone’s Review Committee, and assisting with the due diligence for opportunities that have been awarded to Link."

They almost seem Comp on Tasks.
