Yes do it. No one cares. 3.0 may make a cutoff or not count against you. Less than 3 really might. All you have to do is say a number of people you spoke with in the industry said it was standard practice (it is)...

The only logic that would allow this rounding would also allow rounding of a 3.51 to a 4.0. It's just ridiculous. Since when is it standard practice to lie? If your grade transcript does not say overall GPA you would likely get away with it (and you might even if it is), but it shows a lack of ethics. Man up to your GPA, after all, you are the one who got it. You sat through those classes, sat for exams and ended up with a 2.92. Time to grab life by the balls.
