Is it okay to to round a number like 2.5 million to 3 million while doing math in a case interview? It would be easier when it comes to finding the percentage.
Also, is it okay to do long division on paper during the case interview? Thanks!

When I talked to consultants about this, they told me rounding was fine or creating easy whole numbers for assumptions was also fine. Just say something like "I'm going to make some assumptions about population/market size, let me know if any of them are off or need to be edited." Generally, it's the thought process that matters not the actual assumptions/numbers
