Sequoia Fund
I'm wondering if anyone has interned here during college? I've tried searching on these forums and haven't come up with really anything I found informative.
I'd love to hear about the interview process/training program (if they have one) as well as your thoughts from working (or hearing from someone who does) there?
Thanks!
As far as I know, most VCs don't take summer interns. You either need a banking/consulting background for 2 years (usually for growth VCs) or you need to have worked at a startup/tech experience to work at an early stage VC.
Since this is in the HF forum, I assume you're talking about Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb and not the VC firm. Haven't had the chance to interview there but I know they hire SAs .
There's also a infra fund under the same name. They're having trouble fund raising.
Assuming you're talking about Ruane, Cunniff, Goldfarb... interview with them and don't look back.
Incredibly smart value investors, fundamental training is pretty strong from what I've seen from the folks I've interviewed. They run both mutual funds and at least one internal hedge fund with a pretty impressive long term track records. I don't have a good sense for whether or not they are a "talent machine" in the same way that Tiger Capital was, but any value investor in the business will recognize the name so I think there's probably something like that.
One of the major value investors I look forward to seeing the SEC filings for (so I can steal ideas from them).
