Signed SA offer for summer. What now?

Similar topics have been posted before I know. But kinda buzzed and wired up right now. I signed with a top MM firm and my top choice firm last Friday. Deal flow is insane. Group is what i want. And people are amazing. Getting a SA position was something I had been obsessively working for the past year. Now that it has happened, I’m not sure what to do. I have a great group of friends at school and couldn’t ask for a better social life. But now that I have accomplished what I thought to be my biggest dream, I don’t know what to focus on now. If anyone has been though this before or has advice I would love to hear it.

Was in the exact same position last year. I don't think there was a day that passed when I didn't think about my upcoming internship. I just took a step back and took it in that I had the investment banking internship at a top group now. Then, I got back to my regular school stuff but maybe with a tad bit less effort (not too less though in case I didn't get an FT offer and needed to re-recruit so needed a high GPA). I spoke to a couple of folks from the group as time got closer but they suggested that I relax till the internship began and that they will teach us everything on the job. Still kept up with the industry news for my coverage, looked up best practices on WSO. Didn't practice any modeling beforehand because I was kinda lazy lol. Got through the internship, got amazing reviews, got the full time offer and now I am in the same position except for FT instead cuz I don't know what to do now. Honestly just enjoying school more, drinking more and going out more.

I would suggest you start enjoying the social scene more now. My first 2.5 years at my uni were just spent on best positioning myself for recruiting in terms of getting into the right programs and stuff and thus really enjoyed just not having to do that anymore.

I don’t think you need to fit in to enjoy. I go to a pretty conservative school with a very high percentage of frat life and I don’t fit in either of these groups but still have a good time. Just find a circle of people like you (can be 3-5 people too) and hang out with them. You might feel like you have the FOMO but realize that you don’t fit in so you wouldn’t enjoy that anyways.

hit the gym so you’re yoked before you hit the desk next summer, no better time to fully focus on a lifting routine and meal tracking

Used to be in a similar position. Landed an EB offer sophomore year and was hype as fuck and excited for a while. Eventually the hype wore off, especially during the internship. Definitely chilled out more in school and was less stressed, but once I realized it was just a (tbh overhyped) job, I started seeking happiness in other things. Was hype when I got the FT offer and when I got a MF PE offer during on-cycle, but same thing, hype wares off quick. My advice is to not let these jobs be your main source of happiness and to avoid developing your personality around finance (Trust me, there are a ton of people in this industry like that), bc you realize that’s not what really matters in life.

Might’ve gotten too deep lol, but definitely celebrate dude, you earned it.

Tbh, dont really have regrets. I realized quickly that jobs werent everything, and started to take more interesting classes, going out/drinking more, getting into lifting/ fitness, and just in general chilling more. Had a good time in college, have an amazing career, and a hot gf, what else can I ask for.
