Spring Internship Difficulties

Hey guys, anyone else having a very hard time finding a Spring internship? I am a current senior with a solid resume (repe and investment sales internships) but not getting any luck with the networking. Any advice on this from anyone who has gotten one this cycle? I think Covid is making it a lot more difficult.

Agreed, in the same boat as you. Looking for IS roles this Spring what I've been hearing it's been slow because people are still uncertain about the pandemic/going to the office and the intern is the least of their worries right now. Shifting my strategy to just reaching out for an informal internship and even willing to do unpaid if that can help getting my foot in the door after graduation

Had a tough time landing an internship, but kept on it and managed to get an IS internship at a good shop (I can stay until I graduate and start FT). Covid has definitely made it harder than it otherwise would have been but such is life. People are still unsure and not worried about hiring an intern, still had some good conversations with people and hopefully it will lead to something else soon, hopefully something in development, as that’s my goal.

Keep trying, hit it hard again right after new years as people may reassess needs at that time. Actually, I would go full power during the holdiays, not joking, people will be bored out of their minds not traveling and will be looking at emails and probably have lots of time to do networking calls. You just need to dial till you smile as they say (or well, email/LinkedIn msg these days, you get the idea).
