Startup Experience?

Hey everyone - I wanted to get some insights here:

I'm going into my sophomore year at a semi-target and have already had my fair share of PE/VC internships. Looking to end up at a tech group and have an opportunity to work with a tech startup this fall. How much weight would this actually pull come time to recruit, do banks like to see actual tech experience when recruiting?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Any work experience is better than none... just do what you enjoy and weave the experience into the narrative of your resume. As long as it makes sense when you explain it to the recruiter, it's awesome experience.

This will work great with your story for why tech - also not a common experience among prospects - would recommend.

hell yes... my startup experience during college is the sole reason i was able to land a banking job (in a tmt group). if you want to be in a tech group this is what will differentiate you from all of the other kids with PE/VC backgrounds. work your genitals off with the startup and get as involved as you can, it will pay dividends from a reference and recruiting standpoint.

Thanks, man. If it is a very early-stage startup...like pre-revenue, would that impact how you see things? Or is it primarily to show your interest.
