The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is just about wrapped up. What are your predictions?

It's bizarre to me that an incredibly clear cut self-defense case has become politicized to the point that (some) liberals are siding with a psychotic pedophile and two communist criminals who tried to kill a kid over the civic-minded kid defending himself, but I suppose that's America in 2021.

General impression of the trial so far from non-Pravda tier delusional sources is that the prosecution has been terrible. Almost every witness they've called hurt the prosecution's case, made a case for the defense, or was irrelevant. Most of the defense witnesses were helpful. It's  been one-sided to the point that people are discussing the possibility of a directed verdict.

The only real tool the prosecution has left to rely on is jury intimidation. Which very well could be enough.

He very obviously should walk. People have compared this to the Zimmerman case - that's not even enough, this is closer to Duke Lacrosse in terms of one-sidedness for the defense. But in 2007 and even 2014 liberals were relatively more hinged, and mass media outlets weren't quite the insane Soviet tier propaganda outlets that they are today. So I don't know. I'd say it largely depends on the fortitude of the jury to ignore intimidation.

Rittenhouse is innocent. It was self defense. However, based on the case, I feel like he's a complete idiot who should not have had a gun and been there at all. He's innocent though imo.

Guilty.

He completed the Kenosha Hat Trick and all it takes is one influencer to tilt the jury.

Never forget that juries are comprised of people too stupid to find a way to get out of jury duty...

His conviction would set a horrible precedent. The message would be, essentially:

1. Every so often, when something happens that they don't like, left-wing activists will riot. For nights on end they'll loot stores, burn buildings, and wreck entire neighborhoods.

2. Nothing much will happen to the rioters. The police will be told to stand back by sympathetic city officials. Left-wing local DAs will make sure that those few who are arrested don't face much punishment.

3. The general public is not allowed to do anything about the rioting. They have to stay home and shut up.

4. If any members of the general public try to stop the arson and looting, the rioters will attack them. The people being attacked are not allowed to defend themselves, and the police won't intervene to help them.

5. If they do successfully defend themselves, the same DAs that ignored the rioters will charge them with felonies and go to great lengths to convict them.

In a sense, this is the perfect case to introduce this precedent, since the people Rittenhouse shot were such utter scumbags and the self defense is so clearly captured on video. There would be no tricky questions, no ambiguity about the message.

Welcome to clown world!!!

Check out Minneapolis.  It's basically this.

Here's a good one.  Contractor gets his truck stolen.  Calls 911.  Police make a report and say they'll get right on it...

Contractor is not able to provide for his family without a truck of tools, so he goes out and finds his truck himself.  Beats up the thief, holds thief at gunpoint and calls 911 so they can arrest him.  Contractor gets arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Contractor should have murked the thief and got back to work (street justice 101).  It would just be another open unsolved murder in the great city of Murderapolis that the police will get right on...

Controversial

-Illegally possesses a firearm.

-Travels across state lines with said firearm that he is not legally allowed to possess nor open-carry in either state.

-Kills 2 unarmed people.

-Celebrates his not guilty plea by drinking at a bar and fraternizing with known hate groups.*

And somehow you believe he should walk for self-defense? He deserves maximum sentencing. He chose to place himself in all of this with a weapon he wasn't even allowed to possess.

*Yes he can technically drink in Wisconsin with a parent present, and no associating with a hate group is not a crime, but both speak volumes about character and motives.

The weapons charge is ambiguous and in any case is a misdemeanor.

The two unarmed people he shot were violent criminals who were in the process of assaulting him. The third was pulling a gun on him.

The bar and "hate group" thing is not even a crime, as you admit.

And "he chose to place himself in all of this" is exactly what I wrote about above. You're basically just saying that the rioters had a free pass to riot and commit arson, and that he deserves to spend decades in prison because he entered their vicinity and defended himself when they attacked him.

As dumb as this person's post is, I do appreciate someone showing up with the NPC take on things. Here's a more accurate recounting of events, all of which would be obvious if you paid attention to literally any primary source on the matter, paid attention to the trial at all, or looked into things beyond uncritically accepting the opinions handed to you by Rachel Maddow or idiots on twitter.

  • Rittenhouse (teenage kid) and a group of others arrive to put out fires, provide medical assistance, and protect local businesses from violent rioters. There is ample video evidence of them doing this and multiple witnesses confirmed Rittenhouse in particular doing this.
  • Psychotic bipolar pedophile Rosenbaum threatens to murder several people throughout the day, including (repeatedly) Rittenhouse and other members of the group above.
  • Psychotic bipolar pedophile Rosenbaum chases after Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse retreats. Rosenbaum lunges at Rittenhouse and attempts to take his gun (confirmed by powder residue on Rosenbaum, indicating proximity). Rittenhouse shoots him. Clear self-defense.
  • Rittenhouse leaves the area, moving towards the police.
  • People begin chasing him and shouting threats. Rittenhouse continues to flee towards police.
  • Anthony Huber (also a violent criminal) chases Rittenhouse down and likely hits him (obscured by the video)
  • A large mob approaches the downed Rittenhouse. Someone does a jump kick to Kyle's head, he fires and misses.
  • Anthony Huber runs at the downed Rittenhouse and hits him in the head with his skateboard. Rittenhouse shoots him and he dies shortly after. Video and witness testimony support all of this.
  •  Grosskreutz approaches. Rittenhouse raises his rifle, Grosskreutz raises his hands in a "don't shoot" motion. Rittenhouse begins to clear a gun jam. Grosskreutz resumes aggression, begins to raise his pistol towards Rittenhouse, Rittenhouse shoots him in his gun-toting arm. Grosskreutz himself confirmed that Rittenhouse didn't shoot until he began to raise his glock towards him.
  • Kyle was shown raising his gun towards others approaching then lowering as they backed off. He didn't fire a single shot at anyone who was not an immediate and direct threat.
  • Kyle actually tried to turn himself in to police in the days after the event - they told him nah you're good.

If you're anti-Rittenhouse you're either uninformed, insane, stupid, or evil. There isn't another option. Again, this is much more akin to Duke Lacrosse than Chauvin or Zimmerman. Board libs, i'm begging you, use the fucking squishy thing between your ears.

lol, how many Good Samaritan teenage caregivers also strap a AR-15 around their necks?! This may very well be self defense (I haven’t followed it closely and find it bizarre how many Trumpers are emotionally invested in a muddy case) but you don’t need to lionize this kid.

He went looking for trouble, and found it. He runs with heinous alt-right crowds, and I have no doubt karma will come for him someday if he continues on this path.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."

Rosenbaum is on camera dropping N bomb after N bomb.

Had Kyle been black, he'd be the BLM hero.

I’m “anti-Rittenhouse”, but that doesn’t mean I think he should be convicted.

No one — not the owner of the car dealership he was present at, not the local authorities, not anyone with any expertise if influence — asked an AR15-toting teenager to drive into Kenosha and quell the riots. There’s a reason he was not deputized by Kenosha police.

Even if he did commit the shootings in self-defense, there’s no good reason for him to have been in Kenosha in the first place. He’s not a hero, he’s a right-winger looking to insert himself into violent situations.

Good thing that killing unarmed people (although a skateboard becomes a weapon the second it's used to beat someone in the head w/ it) isn't a crime if those people are assaulting you and/or reaching for your gun, ostensibly to take it from you and murder you.  If you want to speak about the character of those involved, you may want to touch on the fact that Rosenbaum is a serial pedophile, but whatever.

I come from down in the valley, where mister when you're young, they bring you up to do like your daddy done

How was he interloping and who was he causing trouble for? People rioting, looting businesses, assaulting people and setting fires?

To the above person's point, the "he put himself in this situation!" type of reasoning inherently implies that the people actively looting and rioting had a greater right to be there than the people who showed up to protect small businsesses, provide medical aid, and put out fires.

Interloping is simply defined as involving oneself in a situation where they do not belong. All of the tasks Mr. Rittenhouse hoped to accomplish could be accomplished by other entities with the formal authority to complete those tasks. Mr. Rittenhouse was not empowered with any formal authority to do any of these things. Mr. Rittenhouse was not a fireman, was not a law enforcement officer (regardless of his junior academy stint), was none of these things. He illegally carried a gun in the state of Wisconsin to carry out these objectives, so he clearly broke that law. That doesn’t make him murderer, to be clear. I was asked about Rittenhouse, not anyone else. My comments on his conduct are wholly estranged from my views on any other person in Wisconsin.

All-in on not guilty, and if by some stroke of Satan that doesn't happen he'll get it in the appeals court.

I'm just here for the popcorn to watch all the uninformed shitlibs who didn't even watch the trial and are parroting the fake story from CNN/NPR that he traveled across state lines with an illegal firearm (there was literally an entire segment of questioning which established he did not) and instigated the attack (which there is video from multiple angles showing otherwise). Rosenbaum is literally on video saying that if he caught Kyle alone he'd kill him. The first shots were fired by someone other than Kyle while he was being chased. The entire trial was killed by the prosecution's own witnesses and the literal FBI video that completely supports the defense's sequence of events.

Anyone else find it funny how you can't even go to a BLM riot and fire off shots without killing at least one pedophile?

Case ended right about here:

"The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than cowardly" - Robert A. Wilson | "If you don't have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything" - Winston Churchill | "It's a testament to the sheer belligerence of the profession that people would rather argue about the 'risk-adjusted returns' of using inferior tooth cleaning methods." - kellycriterion

1. Rittenhouse was stupid AF to show up to a violent BLM protest with an Ar-15 larping as some sort of special forces medic, especially considering he was in HIGH SCHOOL.  What parent lets their kids do that....

2. The protestors were stupid AF to try and attack someone with an AR-15, and for being overall degenerate george floyd protestors destroying property and generally being a disgrace to MLK and the civil rights movement

3. Rittenhouse was justified to shoot in self defense

You can believe all three things.

Killer Kyle of Kenosha -> KKK -> clearly a racist who doesn't bow down at the altar of 85IQ 13%ers, retard communists and their elite white (and disproportionately Jewish) liberal handlers -> guilty as sin. Case closed

Hmm you sure seem like a non racist arbiter of truth! If you wonder how some people find a way to curiously defend every police shooting, George Zimmerman, Rittenhouse, et. al, being a hugeeee racist/anti-semite/alt-right incel shitbag usually has a lot do with it.

I look forward to your upcoming defense of Ahmaud Arbery’s killers. I know you’ll find a way!

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."

Blacks on average have a lower opinion of Jews than whites.  So why do you claim that blacks are "handled" by Jews like some kind of animal?

A normal society would reward those who execute pedophiles and other rapists but ok. His crime is being a ''white'' male.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

A normal society does not let its citizens play with assault rifles.

The fact that America does is one of the last vestiges of the exceptionalness of our society.  Seriously, the way that people talk about the second amendment is utterly insane viewed through the lens of how they talk about literally every other constitutional right.  While it may be true to say that normal (as in typical/most) societies don't allow their citizens to play w/ free speech, assembly, religious affiliation, a speedy and just trial, etc., people don't point that out w/ derision.  Also, 'assault weapons' are essentially all modern, non-bolt action guns.  Ppl like to apply that term to semi-automatic weapons.  A semi-automatic weapon is a gun where one bullet comes out when you pull the trigger and another one is chambered.

I come from down in the valley, where mister when you're young, they bring you up to do like your daddy done

Liberalx would rather have pedophiles rape kids than allow the latter to defend themselves with deadly force.

That's because pedophiles are liberalx

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

I get the love he's getting from far right / alt right whatever you want to call it. They fantasize about killing people in the streets and battling anarchists or libs or whatever. This idiot just went ahead and did it so of course they'd run to him. In any normal society the whole idea of vigilante paramilitaries patrolling the streets is just unheard of, this isn't Mexico, Colombia or some other third world country. What does that make US look like?  Riots happen everywhere across developed countries, Britain, France, etc, but it's only here where we have 18 year olds running around with guns trying to play cop.

He'll walk because it's likely self defense but that doesn't excuse the whole insanity of the situation. And anyone who supports this type of behavior is likely fantasizing about doing the same thing. Lot's of closet incels / proud boys here which is not surprising.

How so and why do you care about inner cities? Kenosha is not exactly murder capital of US either..

I'll bite. For 2020 Mexico had homicide rate of 29 per 100k population. US average was around 6. Chicago for example a had rate equal to mexico of 29, however certain areas of mexico- Tijuana, Acapulco, etc had 100+ rate. Don't think any area in US has anywhere close.

Interesting that you'd think i'd support these people while you hide behind your anonymous post.  I don't have any love for arsonists / looters / rioters and if they get what's coming to them good. I just don't support bunch of paramilitary types that are not even from the area (none of them typically are) coming and imposing themselves and creating more chaos. Armed vigilantes and militia groups are just not healthy for the long term state of this country.

Anyone who has ever been to a comprehensive concealed carry course and understands when an individual is and is not allowed to defend themselves using deadly force with a firearm will be able to see that all of his actions were in self-defense. Rittenhouse was literally running away from the crowd and only after he was unable to escape the rioters and attacked by them did he engage using deadly force, as he was in fear for his own life. Whether or not a jury feels the same way is another story.

So sorry this isn't a safe space bubble where you get shot down for offering any viewpoints not condoned by the alt left. This is finance, where while liberal views are fine just like anywhere else (though alt left views will be rightfully shat on), moderate and conservative views are also completely the norm. Even if finance people don't express all their views in a public forum (given everything is cancelled these days), you better believe they still have them. Get used to the realities

If you want that little bubble go to Reddit

Wrong.  I am a liberal, not a leftist, and breaking into the safe space that is this website makes a lot of conservatives cry.

Lol this kid's mad because he realizes people in finance don't drink the Kool-aid that 13/50 doesn't exist. Sorry bud, this is a profession dominated (at anything above the entry level) by white and asian males

If this honestly upsets you, then finance is not the right industry for you

People defending the literal pedophiles he shot in self defense belong in an insane asylum. A lot of idiots say he shouldn’t cross state lines but somehow the rioters are completely justified in coming to Kenosha and rioting over Jacob Blake - a rapist who pulled a knife on the police. Liberals (communists SJWs) are the most dangerous threat to America - they’ll stop at nothing to destroy everything. Also what happened to deconstructing the prison state and defunding the police? Does that only apply when it’s your violent sycophants are the ones committing crimes?

Im glad they’re dead. They were a cancer to society.

These days, pedos and criminals >>> conservatives

Can't win with libtards

No ones defending a pedophile. They’re saying killing people is wrong. If Kyle truly went there to just help people with medical attention, then a gun is wildly unnecessary. If someone showed up to your door holding an AR-15, then would you view it as a threat?

Disclaimer: I’m a 2A advocate and this kid makes us all look bad.

He needed a gun because of the tyrannical communists destroying his home. You fail to point out one of the communists brought a gun - that’s why rittenhouse needed one, you idiot. I own ar15s myself and regardless rittenhouse didn’t show up at anyone’s doorstep. His dad lives there and he came to help people who were hurt by the communist pedophiles you’re simping for. Do you always defend pedos or is it only when they’re attacking high schoolers who you disagree with politically?

Bunch of fucking retards in here.

yeah.. technically self defense, but this loser LARPER shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Literally going out of his way to look for trouble

His dad lives there. He was cleaning up graffiti the BLM rioters did. He provided aid to injured people. He put out the fires the rioters started. He was attacked by a pedophile, a serial domestic abuser, and another retarded communist. What right do the people committing violent felonies have to be there? They’re bussed in from Portland and other antifa hotspots. Everyone wants to condemn rittenhouse for being there while ignoring that his dad lives there, he works there, and the rioters destroying his city have no connection to the town.
Did you even watch the trial? We have liberal journalists calling for him to be locked away for life and raped in prison.
