The US, the World and Changing Leadership

I do not want to sound too extreme but I have concerns about the status of the United States post the Corona Virus fiasco. To be honest, I do not know much about US history even though I have lived in the United States for my entire life. I majored in finance/economics in college and then I did a MBA in finance. I took history classes but found them to be quite boring and therefore did not get much out of them. With the little historical knowledge that I have, I do know that world leadership has changed many times over the course of history.

The US economy will likely suffer severe economic consequences and it may not be comparable in magnitude to anything we have experienced in the past 50 years. I know that other counties will suffer as well but a new world leader could possibly emerge when all of this is over. China has become a more important part of the world over the past few decades and, I think, managed to handle the fallout from the virus fairly well. The US is a great country and has been very resilient in the past when we have experienced other challenging environments. I hope we can be as resilient now as we have been in the past.

A few days ago I saw this post on askreddit about "what shitty things has the US government done that we don't know about?"

This is some hard core propaganda and thousands interacted with it. The account that created that post was three years old with 0 prior comments or posts. It just speaks to the level of anti-us rhetoric that is going on to try to 1. Vilinize the US in the global community 2. cause discord among the US's own citizens. The US is being confronted on multiple planes using both short and long term operations. Hopefully the US can get its act together and overcome these assaults.

I believe US is viewed by many as a totem of western life on top of being an economic power, hence the urgency to attack it. Next comes the EU and western alliances. Divide and conquer.
