The World's Largest - Test your knowledge

So i came across a few random facts in my internet travels recently, which i found pretty interesting, and some relevant from a financial perspective.

1) Where is the world's largest stadium? Bonus: What is it's capacity?

2) Name the largest 2 real landowners in the world (nominal leaders i.e. the Queen don't count).

3) What's the world's largest building? (in terms of floor area).

4) What's the world's largest office building?

No google until you've tried, will post answers once the thread reaches a length where you can still view the questions wihtout instantly seeing the answers on the same screen.

  1. The Stadium in North Korea where they do those shows. 150k seats?
  2. Grovesnor and Cadogan or whatever the name of the British people who own half of London are. That's probably by worth though. There are probably a couple guys in Australia with a ton of land.
  3. Boeing factory or Dutch flower market.
  4. Pentagon? Those are offices right?

Btw, this is all from prior knowledge (or lack thereof)

  1. has to be some nascar thing right?

  1. Depends...are race tracks or horse tracks included? If not then I think it's Rungrado in North Korea (~150K); if they are included then I think it's the Indy Motor Speedway (~250K).
  2. Catholic Church and Ted Turner?
  3. Boeing Everett Plant (I remember this from the tour).
  4. In terms of square footage - Pentagon; in terms of tallest - Taipei 101?

1) Either the Big House or the stadium in N Korea 2) Ted Turner and Li Ka Shing 3) The massive Boeing facility outside of Seattle 4) No idea...is the Burj Kalifa an office building?

Re: McDonalds - It doesn't own most of its land since it is franchised.

  1. The term 'stadium' can mean a bunch of different things when talking about world records...but sporting venue wise I think the racetrack in Indy has a capacity over 200k...and I think that's the largest. Traditional stadium wise I think the one in NK (as someone mentioned above) is probably the largest and that is like 150k or something around there, maybe a bit more. I will mention that I'm skeptical about the capacity for the stadium in NK because they are probably talking about 150k malnourished Asians, not normal sized peoples.

  2. Ted Turner is one of the largest, if not THE largest. Not sure who the other one is.

  3. Boeing plant in Washington

  4. Pentagon

Sadly, I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to facts like these and spend lots of free time on Wikipedia just reading crap. Glad it (might) have finally paid off!

I don't know if that Boeing factory counts as an office building. Pentagon's a lot closer to a true office building

I would agree. The Pentagon is definitively an office building whereas the Boeing building is an assembly factory which, I believe, holds an entirely different meaning.
