Thoughts on Guggenheim MM Group?
Applying for 2022 full-time opportunities for Guggenheim and I’m curious on the MM groups located in Chicago and Atlanta. How does the MM group compare to the normal groups in NYC? How does it compare to the other banks in Chicago (ie William Blair)? Is pay and exit opps much worse than the normal Guggenheim groups?
The group is good. It is primarily focused on IT Services (poached from Blair) and is one of the top groups on the street.
Exits are unknown because of how new the office is.
By any chance do you know if pay is in line with Guggenheims normal coverage groups?
Base is $100k. I don't know about bonus but would assume it is on par/close. They've been killing it (0 > 50 employees in 2 years) and have closed a ton of deals
Base pay is same for all Gugg analysts -- Chicago making same as NYC analysts. Can't speak to bonuses, but Chicago office has been killing it, so I imagine they were very good, as Gugg is known as one of highest paying on Street.
Have you heard anything from Guggenheim? like interview invite yet
Interviews have started
for NY or only MM?
Official or informal? I pretty much had an informal one.
They had me do a modelling test. Not very straight forward. Waiting to hear back.
Which office?
The Chicago office is being led by Jim Suprenant and the dealflow is very strong
How was the superday interview? How were the technical questions like?
Gugg Chicago is basically a group of Blair tech folks (I think IT services?) that got picked off. MDs brought junior talent with them. I assume culture is similar to Blair, that is, solid but be able to talk about Big 10 football. Not sure how exits are, but I imagine solid.
Group is #1 at Gugg in revenue and rev/head
Wow, MM group is even bigger/more profitable than TMT and health care?
Not sure on profitable but yes, more revenue. Group spans 4 offices and has ~70 bankers
5 offices (CHI, ATL, NY, Boston, and SF) and 100+ bankers.
Started with two rainmakers from Blair technology covering IT infrastructure and IT services. Over past year added Fintech, Industrial Tech, Healthcare, Software, and few other verticals with SMDs (+ juniors) from other successful franchises.
Anyone know the timeline for NYC FT? Haven't seen an application go up but heard they have spots open.
app was posted a couple weeks ago, have u heard anything yet?
