Thoughts on Jefferies FIG Insurance Group @ NYC office?
So I applied for a 2021 FT analyst role within the FIG group earlier this week and got invited for a first-round interview. Can someone give me some insights into the FIG group culture? How shall I prepare for the interview?
Also, I thought the timeline is a bit odd. If they're interviewing for 2021 FT analysts now, when will be the start date?
They just hired some MDs from credit Susie so I assume that’s why they’re hiring late.
The start date will most likely be mid to late July. Not fig but the energy team, when they interviewed for FT 21, gave a modeling test to the interviewees. Not saying that’ll be the case for you but just know that it’ll be a technical interview. Read up on fig stuff - there’s a free primer floating somewhere on the web.

And for stuff on the culture, might be helpful to look at the recent CS FIG posts because that’s where they got their new MDs from. I am familiar with that group and would say that their insurance side was pretty sweaty but then all insurance IB groups are.
Also have an interview with them this coming week. I wonder how many spots they're filling
Good Luck! Is your interview with HR or someone from the group?
Best of luck to you as well. Mine is with someone from the group. wby?
Someone from the group as well. They sent me the invite yesterday and asked to provide a time for Monday or Tuesday -- kinda tight lol.
Yeah I got the same thing, I wonder if that means they're gonna have the superday this coming Friday
No idea. I just hope this first round is not too focused on technicals. How are you prepping?
Yeah I feel ya, I'm hoping for that too. Hard to know how it'll be since we're interviewing for direct placement vs generalist. There was a thread for the generalist interviews 1-2 months ago that said they got paper lbos in the first round. I'm practicing the paper lbo just in case but hoping we don't have to do it. Sadly there's no FIG interviews for Jefferies in the wso database either so no help there. From reading about Jefferies' interviews, in general they seem more technical at least for first rounds. I haven't been able to find anything FIG specific for them though
Anyone hear back from the superday yesterday?
